The SettingIn the year 1985, the darkest scheme was created and the dies were cast. Our Watchmen begun to go down a road that tested them to the very bone and tried their beliefs. This all started with a death, one that was not simply a death, but a murder. Edward Blake, the Comedian, was killed and this started Rorschach's investigation into the mask killer. As everything progressed, the truth came out and millions died because of Adrian Veidt, or as most people believe, Dr Manhattan. With the world in peace, Adrian began to use his personal influence and money to rebuild the world while others rebuilt their lives. Crime still ran rampant on the streets, but it was smaller than before. This kept Nite Owl II and Silk Spectre II busy with their vigilante ways. With many of the Watchmen now dead, Nite Owl began to rebuild their little group and quickly became the leader, since Adrian didn't want to go back. As for Rorshach's journal, it was never published, for it never made it to the stands. Seymour had read the journal, but shortly after, it had gone missing and the proof of the truth gone.
Here is the turning point as the year turns to 1986 and many of the cities are rebuilt and running once again. Adrian is now, not only the smartest man, but the richest in the world. However, not even this saved him from one special antihero who wanted revenge. November second, the anniversary of the destruction, Adrian is attacked by an assassin. The assassin who attempted to kill Adrian was quickly dispatched into a pile of the assassin's own blood. Moments after, Adrian was killed as another assassin, the true one, does a surprise attack with a throwing knife to Adrian's chest. This single throwing knife holds the initials SS as it sticks out of the body of Adrian, who's sprawled over his desk within the safety of his own tower. Now...we introduce a new type of chaos to New York City as this is where our story begins and there is only one question left. Will you stand for justice or pave your own path?
